THOUGHTS FROM THE KING:

This will be my fifth year here at FaLaLaLaLa and itâ’s a really wonderful and gratifying endeavor.  I get tons of emails full of gratitude and warm wishes.  It makes me extremely happy to be part of peopleâ’s Christmases all over the world.

On the other hand itâ’s quite a lot of work.  Thereâ’s a lot of music to keep track of and I still have a large collection of vinyl that I need to herd into the digital age.  And then there is life and work and the Christmas here with my own family.  And so this year I kind of decided that I was going to focus on the ADVENTure in Carols and forgo Featured Albums.

But I kept listening over and over to this album that was shared early in the season by PDMan in the FaLaLaLaLa forums.  And I decided (with Randy’s permission) to offer it as a Featured Album.

This is some great 1970s Now Sound Christmas, full of lush strings, funky beats, sleigh bells, horns and sweet vocal harmonies.  The more that I discover this music, the more I think the Brits seemed to do it best.

So sit back and enjoy the lush and funky sounds of The London Sound 70 Orchestra & Chorus.  And many thanks to Randy for the recordings and images!
