Dec. 7 – Judy Garland and Mel Torme – The Christmas Song (1963)

Every year our family watches Judy Garland’s 1963 Christmas special. Even though Judy is visibly out of it during much of the show, there are some great performances from her, Liza Minelli, Jack Jones and more. It’s just a lot of fun.

The highlight for me has always been Judy’s duet with Mel Torme on Torme’s brilliant “The Christmas Song”. You have to listen to Torme’s harmonies and counterpoint during this. It’s just absolutely brilliant! In fact, watch it:
